Frequently Asked Questions

Do you self-produce shoots, or do I need to bring in a producer?

I have the experience and ability to fully self-produce or co-produce small to medium-sized shoots.

I can lean on my network of other creatives to help us get the job done. Including: 2nd shooters, videographers, drone pilots, HMUAs and even other dedicated producers and full production teams.

Can you deliver both photo and video from the same production?

Yes, I shoot both still photo and video. And depending on the size and scope of the deliverables, together we would determine whether it would be most efficient to have me shoot both mediums, to bring in a dedicated videographer, or to look into a larger video team.

What does your typical pre-production process look like?

I like to start with a 15-20 minute "discovery" call (preferably over video) to discuss the project in more detail so I can get an sense of the brand's ethos and needs, the concept, timeline and an idea of the expectations on deliverables.

This is also where we determine where I fit into the larger picture of the project. For example: if there is a need for me to take on producing responsibilities like location scouting, casting, shotlisting and creative concepting.

After that, I'll create a quote based on the services and scope we've discussed and we go from there!

How do you handle talent casting and on-set direction?

If you're looking for help with casting, I have connections to talent agencies as well as personal relationships with a lot of professional models and athletes.

I am very adept at directing talent on set and have developed a knack for making non-models feel comfortable in front of the camera and bringing out their best.

What's your standard approach to usage rights and licensing?

Each client is going to have different needs and intent for their content, so I don't have a one-size-fits-all usage model.

In general, once I understand the scope of the project, I use a tiered usage approach to make sure that the usage is appropriate for the usage that's it's intended for.

A full buyout is also sometimes what's required, and that can be negotiated as well.

What's a realistic turnaround from shoot to final delivery?

Regarding still photos: In general, I try to have a gallery of comps delivered within 72 hours of the shoot date for client review.

Delivery of final, edited assets is usually 10 working days after receiving the client's selections.

Larger shoots with more deliverables or more complicated edits may take more time, so this is just a general guideline.

If there is a very tight turnaround, then I can often accommodate that, with rush fees added.

Are you open to travel, and how do you handle locations outside LA?

I am fully open and willing to travel for a job! I love exploring new locations and getting the chance to shoot in new and exciting locations.

For Brands and Agencies

How does the booking process work?

Reach out with a summary of what you're looking to create and we can set up a quick 15 minute call to dig into some details of your project.

I'll then create a custom quote based on what we discussed. Because everyone's needs are different, I don't have package pricing.

Do you work directly with agencies, managers, or coaches?

Yes, I'm happy to be looped in with representation in order to help you manage things like submissions, invoicing and creative briefs.

Can I bring my own hair and makeup team, or do you have people you work with?

Yes! If you have an HUMA or stylist that you like to work with, by all means bring them into the project.

And if you're in need of one, I have a network of creatives I can call on to help out.

Do you travel for shoots?

Yes! I'm happy to pack up my gear and come to wherever the shoot needs to happen.

Do you shoot families, engagements and weddings?

No, I don't work in the social photography space, which includes weddings, engagements, baby photos and family portraits.

Do you do creative collaborations or test shoots?

Rarely, but yes, I am open to creative collaborations if the concept is strong engaging, and seems like a good fit. Or once in a while if it just looks like a ton of fun!
